Dunno if I can make I there. It sure sounds interesting, and could be very fun(ny) to watch.

I hope someone will take screens or copy text to keep a log going. It'd be very cool to read in case I don't make it.

Chat Reaping got nerfed!

Everytime you send or receive a message, you receive +1 Information and then your comm system is disabled for 5 seconds.

I like it! Balance FTW!

I hate to say it but Gamespy network for games have always been less then reliable. They are the third party equivalent to their father site IGN (which is also less then reliable at times).

Hmmm, I've personally asked for a GW chat with the devs or community relations multiple times, with the hope to coordinate it between the fansites. The details we came up with were on doing it on GameSurge, only certain people voiced. Interview style (with questions beforehand) then an open Q&A the last 10 minutes with questions set in/screened for the devs. Hopefully it will follow that kind of format as I believe it would be the best and most open way for the community.

Members of the Guild Wars Development Team will be taking part in a dev chat at 4:00 PM Pacific this Friday, May 11th. The chat will take place in the Livewire lobby of the GameSpy Arcade. You can get instructions on downloading the Arcade program here. Once you've downloaded and installed Arcade, log in and then click on the Livewire button under "My Games" on the left and you will be taken into the chat. We will look forward to chatting with you!
Exactly what the community needs. More communication between the devs and the players, Bravo Anet!

Here's to many more of these in the future, cheers!

(Though I hate Gamespy.)

I doubt it will be any different then the people spamming gaile with questions once she's in a international district.
To many people with to many questsions is choas, setting up a forum or replying in these might be less "Problematic" unless they want to a add a max number of people in that chat channel.
In rge last case it could be usefull.

I'm not too shure about that, thought there are quite a lot of people that are interested and would like to ask questions, I really wonder how many will bother showing up. Don't underestimate the lazyness of gamers.

having that said, those that DO come, probably have a good enough reason to do so, and as such would probably have some nice suggestions.

I won't bother with it...purely due to my dislike of Gamespy. I have the time. I have the inclination. I just refuse to sign up with them again...at all...ever....for any reason. I'll sit back and wait to read about it...you get more out of the discussion generated by things like this anyway.

I wouldn't call it laziness.

Many gamers already know the song and dance routine for these sort of things.

Bulk of those questions will be in regard to GW2 and EToN. And the majority of those answers will be, "We can't talk about it yet". The rest of those questions will be about recent farming changes, Hard Mode and the state of PvP. One or two will manage to ask a question worthwhile but the rest will be stuff that we already know about.

I personally don't see any reason to participate in this, which is why I asked if anyone was going to do a transcript.

I would. Because when the chance to chat and reason with the creators of the game comes around, not even half of the people who moan and whine will show up. Then they'll moan and whine that their brilliant 'fix everything' ideas weren't put into place.

Sweet, sweet irony at work.

A formal dev chat, like this one, must of course be moderated. There will be a lobby in which everyone who attends will be present. Questions will be submitted from players via a method that the GameSpy moderator will outline. The questions will then be relayed to us. As a team we'll come up with the best and most complete answer possible and will then post it into the chat room.

In other words, there will be no scrolling text, no spamming, and no abuse, because while it will be live, it will not be an open chat with a thousand people calling out questions and us trying to answer them all.

Sounds perfect, Gaile. Honestly, I'd expect no less from the dev team. It's taken too long for one of these to happen that I can't see everyone putting up with the nonsense & bullhonkey that you have to deal with everytime you put in an appearance in-game to visit with us and answer questions!

On a side note: What? No response to Zinger? Man, I'm disapointed, I was expecting something good...

haha...minipets n00b...I love it!

That is not laziness. Laziness is not doing something because its too much work.

For all we know, the whiners would be front and center on something like a Dev Chat.

Why are you forcing your customers to download spyware/adware?

http://www.fbmsoftware.com/spyware-n...ameSpy_Arcade/

Seriously, learn2irc. Ultima Online developers have been doing it for years (UOHoC). The beauty of it? I can pick whatever irc client I trust to not have spyware.
